Beatification of 7 MSC Martyrs

On May 6, 2017, 7 MSC Martyrs were beatified in Girona, Spain. The Beatification was presided by Cardinal Angelo Amato, thePrefect of the Congregation for the Causes of Saints.

From his Facebook page, Fr. Carl Tranter, MSC on this occasion said:

A beautiful and humbling celebration of the beatification of our first ever MSC martyrs in the cathedral of Girona, Spain today, presided by Cardinal Angelo Amato and 10 other bishops. Our martyrs were seven young MSCs between the ages of 20 and 28, 3 brothers and 4 priests, who were killed in 1936 simply because they were religious and/or priests, for hatred of the Christian faith. All were working in our formation house in Canet del Mar and went to their death by firing squad as a community, proud to be MSC and boldly witnessing to their faith in Christ. Ametur.
